When a high school was looking to hire new staff for its nutrition department, they faced a specific challenge: reaching qualified candidates with experience in food handling who were interested in part-time work. The school needed to promote the job openings to a young, entry-level audience while also showcasing the value of working in a school environment committed to providing healthy meals for students.

Strategy: Leveraging Social Media for Targeted Recruitment

To attract the right candidates, we designed a Facebook/Instagram Premium campaign targeting individuals aged 18+ who were actively looking for part-time or temporary work. The focus was on engaging people with interests and experience related to food service, entry-level jobs, freelancing, and self-employment.In addition to targeting, we implemented retargeting tactics to capture people who had visited the client’s website in the past 60 days but hadn’t yet applied. This helped ensure we were reaching people who had already shown an interest in the position.The campaign used a mix of video ads and carousel ads to visually highlight the benefits of working in the school’s nutrition department, as well as the flexible, part-time nature of the positions.

Results: High Engagement and Exceptional Click-Through Rates

The results from the three-month campaign were impressive, especially considering the competitive nature of recruitment for entry-level positions:

  • 322,980 impressions: The campaign generated widespread visibility, reaching a large number of potential candidates.
  • 7,168 clicks: With a click-through rate (CTR) of 2.22%, the campaign’s performance was over 31 times higherthan the national CTR average.
  • 80,820 post engagements: This included actions like clicks on calls-to-action (CTAs), profile clicks, and website visits.
  • 269 post reactions: These were likes, emojis, and other forms of engagement from the audience.
  • 140 post shares: A strong sign that the audience found the job opportunity worth sharing with others.
  • 1,384 click and view-through conversions: These conversions indicated that a significant number of viewers interacted with the campaign and were motivated to apply.

The campaign successfully engaged the target audience, driving both awareness and conversions for the open positions. The high engagement and conversion rates proved that the strategy not only resonated with potential applicants but also prompted them to take action.
